How to Use Video Cutter Expert

Video Cutter Expert is very easy to use. Simply follow the next six easy steps.

Step 1 - Select input Video File

At first, select the input Video file by pressing the "Open Video" button or you can just drag and drop a video file from Windows Explorer to the main screen.

Step 2 - Specify start and end points of cut

With Video Cutter Expert you can specify the start and end points of video clips with highly accurate millisecond precision.

To set the start position, press the play button on the toolbar and let the video play. Then when the video is at the desired position press the "Set Clip Start" button of the toolbar. Press the "Set Clip End" button when the video is at the end position to set the video clip end point.

The light blue button on the inbuilt video player bar shows video's position.

Of course, you can also pause the video and then drag the light blue handle and then press the "Set Clip Start" or "Set Clip End" button to set the desired start and end points of the video cut.

Alternatively, you can enter the time value position of the start or end position in the "Position" text box and then press the "Set Clip Start" or "Set Clip End" button.

Another way to specify the start point of the video clip is to just drag the left yellow handle to the desired position.

To specify the end point of the video clip drag the right yellow handle to the desired position.

You can see the exact time position of the start and end point and also the video clip's duration in the text boxes of the video clip's details box that is below the window preview window.

You can also see the video frame of the chosen position but, of course, the video has to be at first paused or stopped if it is playing.

To set the start or end points more precisely, you can press the arrow buttons that are below the video preview window to move the start or end points by the time value that is written to the left of the arrow. For example, if you want to move the start position by 0.1 seconds (100 milliseconds) to the left just press the left arrow button that is next to "0.1 sec" label. To move it to the left by 1 second just press the left arrow button that is next to "1 sec" button.

Alternatively, if you know the exact time position of the start or end point just enter the time value in the "Start" or "End" text box of the video clip's details box and press enter.

If you have set a start position and know the exact desired duration of the video clip just enter the duration time value in the "Duration" text box and press enter.

In this way, it is not necessary to specify an end point but it is set automatically based on the duration.





Step 3 (Optional) - Add more video clips

This step is optional. If you want to cut the video into more than one pieces just press the "Add Clip" button of the toolbar.

To remove a video clip press the "Remove Clip" button.

For example, if there are more than one positions in the video with advertisements that should be cut, you should create more than one video clip.

You can join the video clips into one video or you can create separate video clips. Just check the "Join Clips" checkbox to join the video clips into one video.

To set the active video clip just press the video clip's detail box and it will become yellow.

To preview only the active video clip press the "Play Clip" button on the right of the video clip's details box.

Step 4 - Preview the Video Output

After having set the start and end point of the video clip press the "Play Preview" button of the toolbar to preview the video output.

Step 5 - Set the output folder and the output video format

Then specify the video output folder. You can set it to be the same as the video's folder. Then a new video will be created with the same name as the original video but will end with the word ".clipped". Alternatively, you can specify another specific video output folder by pressing the "Browse Output Folder" button.

To open the output folder just press the "Open Output Folder" button.

Afterward, you have to specify the video format of the output video. You can keep the same video format as the original one or convert the video into another format.

Almost all popular video formats such as MP4,WMV,FLV,AVI,MPEG,MOV,MKV,3GP,SWF and VOB are supported.

Step 6 - Cut Video

Lastly, press the "Cut Video" button of the toolbar to start the cut process.

You can see progress of the cut process and the time elapsed and you can pause or stop the cut process by pressing on the "Pause Cut" or "Stop Cut" buttons of the toolbar.

To speed up the video cut process just set the thread priority to a higher value. This can be done from the "File" menu. To save computer resources while doing a video cut just lower the thread priority.

After the video cut was done, Windows Explorer will open by default with the video output file selected. From the "When Finished" of the "File" menu you can also specify to auto shutdown, hibernate, sleep, exit the application e.t.c. after the video cut is done.

Include and Exclude Mode

By selecting "Include Mode" you have to specify which parts of the video to include in the output.On the other hand, by selecting "Exclude Mode" you will have to specify which parts to exclude from the output.

How to split the video into equal parts

To split the video into equal parts, press the "Split in Parts" button on the toolbar. Then select "Split into Equal Parts" and enter the number of parts you want.

How to split the video by time

To split the video into equal time length parts, press the "Split in Parts" button on the toolbar. Then select "Split by Time" and enter the desired time length of each part.

How to apply fade-in, fade-out effect on clips

To apply a fade-in and fade-out effect on clips , check the "Fade-In / Fade-Out" checkbox that is on the lower side of the screen. Then a new screen will be shown where you can enter the time length of the fade-in or fade-out effect in seconds. Also, you can specify, in case you have clipped the video into more than one parts, if the effect will be applied to the whole video clip or for each one clip separately.

Zooming into a frame in the storyboard

You can also zoom into a frame of the storyboard. Simply, right mouse click on the frame of the storyboard and select "Zoom into Frame". Then, the storyboard will zoom into that frame. You can zoom into the same frame with more detail, by right clicking on the frame and then select "Zoom into Frame" again.

How to speed up the conversion process or how to save computer resources

You can set the Video Cutter Expert application's thread priority from Realtime to Idle in order to speed up the cut process or in order to save computer resources. Check the desired thread priority at the "File" menu.

How to auto shutdown, hibernate, sleep, exit e.t.c. after the cut process has finished

In order to auto shutdown the computer, or to hibernate, sleep, exit the application check the checkbox on the lower right corner of the screen and select the desired action after the conversion has finished.
