How to Use Quick File Locker

After running the application for the first time, you have to set a master password.

How to Lock Files

Afterward, to lock files or folders simply drag and drop the files or folders to the main window or press the "Add Files" or "Add Folder" button.

In the end, press the "Lock" button of the toolbar and wait for the locking process to finish.

How to Unlock Files

To unlock files, press the "Unlock" button of the toolbar and wait for the unlocking process to finish.

.QFL Files

The application in order to work creates files with extension .qfl in each directory where files are locked.

Do not delete or change these .qfl files because they are essential in order to unlock the files.

Lock Modes

Quick File Locker has 3 different lock modes.

The first one is make files un-readable and encrypt which makes files un-readable by renaming them in a specific way and also encrypts them using the Triple DES algorithm.

The second one is make files un-readable only which only makes files un-readable by renaming them and is faster than the first lock mode.

The third one is encrypt only files which encrypts them using the Triple DES algorithm and is faster than the first lock mode.

How to Lock or Unlock Files or Folders with a Right Click in Windows Explorer

To lock or unlock files or folders with a right-click in Windows Explorer you have to first have installed the application with the option "Integrate into Windows Explorer".

Then, simply select the files or folders you want and select "Lock with Quick File Locker", "Unlock with Quick File Locker".

Command Line Usage

Quick File Locker can also be executed from the command line.

Therefore, it can be included in scripts and batch files.

Locks, password protects and encrypts files.

QuickFileLocker.exe [[file|directory]]
[/lock]
[/unlock]
[/password:APPLICATION_PASSWORD]
[/?]

file : one or more files to be processed.
directory : one or more directories containing files to be processed.
lock : lock specified file or folder.
unlock : unlock specified file or folder.
password : application passsword, in case you have set one.
/? : show help


Example :
QuickFileLocker.exe /password:"1234" /lock "c:\documents\invoice.doc"

QuickFileLocker.exe /password:"1234" /unlock "c:\documents"

How to change the Master Password

To change the master password select "Set Password" from the "Options" menu and specify then the new password.

How to change user interface language

When the application is first started it asks you for your desired user interface language.

You can also change the user interface language from the "Language" menu.
